Reminder:Virtual Participation Forms

Please be sure to have your Virtual Participation Forms in by tomorrow, November 6th! Link to the meeting will be sent out on Friday night. It is very important that we reach a quorum (17 members, it’s harder to reach than you think!) in order to conduct business. Zoom is a great option for those who do not feel comfortable around a lot of people but wish to be an active participant in the HOA. Also, remember if you are unable to come to the meeting on Saturday to assign a neighbor as your proxy! You do have a choice in whether a person votes on your behalf or just represents you for quorum. You can also email the Secretary your proxy by Friday, if you wish to assign a board member as your proxy. Please contact the Secretary if you need forms or have questions: avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com

Reminder: Annual Meeting

There will be an annual meeting on Saturday, November 7th at 2pm (1:30 registration begins). If you wish to participate via Zoom, please get those forms to the Secretary before Friday! If you are unable to attend, please assign a member in good standing as your proxy. The Secretary and President are able to be proxies, if you don’t know your neighbors. Contact the Secretary at avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com if you have questions or need forms.

Annual Meeting Reminder

This is a reminder that there will be an HOA Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 7th at 2pm (registration begins at 1:30pm). If you can not attend this meeting, we ask that you assign another member as your proxy. Proxies may be emailed/mailed and must be received by November 6th. Proxies not emailed/mailed must be given to the Secretary during registration, prior to the meeting starting. Those who do not feel comfortable attending the meeting in person, but would like to participate via ZOOM, need to have their forms emailed/mailed soon so they can be received by November 6th. It is very important all members attend in some way so we can reach a quorum. We will need to approve the 2021 budget and vote in a treasurer and president. If you have yet to receive your Annual Meeting notice, please contact the Secretary ASAP at avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com .

If it is not there, please contact the Secretary ASAP. If you receive documents via US mail, please contact Secretary if you have not received your notice by October 30th. Secretary email is avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com . Thank you!

Treat or Treating: Are we or aren’t we?

Halloween is just around the corner and many homeowners are curious about what their neighbors are doing concerning trick or treating. The short answer to whether you should or shouldn’t participate is entirely up to you! Government agencies have not cancelled Halloween/trick or treating. They have stated we should maintain social distancing, wear masks, wash hands and not participate if you or someone in your household is sick. As far as our neighborhood is concerned, YES, some neighborhood children do intend to trick or treat and YES, some neighbors will have treats to hand out. Will there be as many kids out and homes participating as previous years? Probably not, but if you enjoy Halloween and wish to celebrate it, there is no reason you shouldn’t. Here are some suggestions on how to make the night enjoyable and safe for everyone:

  1. Follow the safety guidelines put out by our local Public Health Department.
  2. Handle your treats less. Put treats on a platter, so they are easily grabbed by a child.
  3. If you like to see the costumes, place a chair six feet away from your treats and wish everyone a “Happy Halloween”.
  4. Pass out something different from edibles like small toys, pencils etc. You can even purchase coupons from local fast food places for a treat! Remember, there are a lot of kids out there who enjoy Halloween but can’t eat the candy due to allergies or other dietary restrictions.
  5. Make sure your edibles are store bought and individually wrapped. Homemade treats are wonderful but this year we suggest saving those for your family.

We hope this helps in your decision making. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!
