Welcome to Avondale Glen Homeowners Association (HOA)! We are a small community of 49 homes located in Poulsbo, Washington. Our HOA is run by a board consisting of a President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These are two-year terms voted in at our annual meeting, which takes place in November. Annual meetings are open to ,all homeowners (members) of the Avondale Glen HOA to attend. We vote on a budget, board positions, and discuss the needs and concerns of the neighborhood. It is very important that all homeowners attend this meeting or assign another member as their proxy, as voting cannot take place without a quorum (minimum of 17 lots represented). Board meetings are held once a month (or every other month during slower time periods) for the board members to conduct HOA business. Meetings are announced on this site 24 hours in advance of the meeting. All members are invited to attend board meetings but it is not required. Meeting minutes are usually posted to this site within two weeks of the meeting being held.
The annual assessment for this neighborhood is $230 due on January 1st. Our assessments pay for insurance, water, streetlights, attorney fees, maintenance for the common areas and other costs needed to run the HOA, like postage, PO Box, paper, envelopes, etc. We also use funds for HOA activities such as Yard of the Month contests, Holiday décor contests, and potlucks. The board works hard to run the HOA as efficiently and transparently as possible while promoting community through good communication and neighborhood activities. Our main objective is to maintain property values and create a comfortable, safe place for families to live. We are also a military-friendly neighborhood. Many homeowners are in the military, retired military, or work for the military in some way. We understand the hardships military families face and are willing to help in any way we can.
All governing documents and standards for this neighborhood can be found on this site. Our public display of standards and guidelines allows the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) and HOA Board to operate in a consistent and fair manner. In an effort to maintain property values and alleviate conflicts among neighbors, residents are required to submit for approval on all outdoor projects. This includes sheds, play equipment, spa installation, painting of your house, building a fence or trellis, staining, etc. If you are changing or adding something to your property that could affect your neighbors, it must be approved. Forms can be found under the “contacts and forms” tab.
The HOA Board is here to serve the community. We are here to answer questions, hear concerns, and resolve issues. Please explore this website, attend meetings, and be an active member in the association. Stay in the loop by following our blog and signing up for email communications. We hope you find our neighborhood to be as beautiful and friendly as we do!
