Information Concerning Sales Reps

Hello Neighbors,

Last week there was some concern about a group of young people in our neighborhood who stated they were with Lumio, a solar installation company. I personally contacted the company to verify that this group was Lumio employees and the regional manager confirmed that they are. I addressed our concerns with the regional manager and he informed me that he has spoken to his reps about wearing their uniforms and following sales procedures, which include knocking on the door, giving information and offering a consultation with a specialist.

At this time Lumio has decided to cease door to door sales in Poulsbo due to two incidents last week involving assaults on their employees. I do not know if these actions occurred in our neighborhood or when/if they plan to return in the future. I did mention to the manager that his representatives had been to our neighborhood regularly over the past year and that perhaps we could be visited less often.

If you have any questions or concerns about this or any other happenings in the neighborhood, please contact me or the other board members at their email addresses found on our website http://www.avondaleglen.com. You can also report neighborhood information to me and I will post it for our members to see.

Thank you,

Sheri Martinek

4th of July Reminder

We would like to remind everyone to please be safe and courteous during your 4th of July celebrations. Click here to view a list of legal/illegal fireworks and when fireworks can be used from the Poulsbo Police Dept.: https://cityofpoulsbo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/PPD-Fireworks-Safety-Dos-and-Donts.pdf and here from Kitsap County: https://www.kitsapgov.com/dcd/Pages/Kitsap-County-Fireworks-Information.aspx . With it being dry and hot, fire danger is high. Be sure to water down your properties in the evening of the 4th and keep a water hose/fire extinguisher on hand while lighting fireworks. Be careful when purchasing fireworks at the local reservations. What is legal on the reservation is not necessarily legal in Poulsbo. We recommend purchasing your fireworks from a tent within city limits to avoid accidental purchases of illegal fireworks. AERIALS ARE NOT ALLOWED! If you are unwilling to shoot a firework over your house, DO NOT shoot it over your neighbors’ house. In addition, please remember for many of our neighbors, July 5th is a work day. The City of Poulsbo allows fireworks on the 4th until 11pm. We ask that all celebrations be done by that time to allow those who have to work an opportunity to get some sleep. Please keep in mind, we all live close together and your actions affect everyone around you. Having a good time on the 4th of July should not come at the expense of others. Be kind and courteous, and above all, safe this holiday! Happy 4th of July!

Please click here to review the maintenance standards: https://avondaleglen.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/property-maintenance-standards-updated-2022.pdf . The ACC and Board will begin issuing violations to any homeowner not in compliance. Thank you!

Alert: Early Morning Incident

A neighbor reported that a man banged on their door at 4am this morning. The man wanted the neighbor to open the door because a dog had been hit. Eventually the man went away and the police were called. Another neighbor had reported about 3 weeks ago a person was seen on their ring camera around 4am coming up to their door, then turned around and left. Let this be a reminder that you need to be vigilant. Be sure to lock up your homes and cars. Keep your shrubbery and trees pruned and away from doors and windows so your house can be seen. Keep your lights on at night or install motion detecting security lights. Install cameras, so you can see what is happening around your house. Let your neighbors know when you’re away on vacation, so they can keep an eye your property. Report suspicious activity to the police and inform the HOA Secretary so posts like this can be sent out to everyone. Thank you!
