Volunteer needed

We have one work party position opened for this Saturday, July 20th at 9am.  Volunteers will earn a $15 credit towards their 2020 HOA assessment for 30 minutes of work.  This week we will focus on weeding and pruning.  If you are interested please respond to this post or email the secretary at avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com.

Street Parking reminder

During the summer months we receive many reports from angry homeowners concerning being ticketed for parking in the street.  This is a reminder that the City of Poulsbo (not the HOA!) does not allow anyone to park on our street.  Parking is only allowed in your garage or paved driveway, not your lawn or flower beds!  If you are having a party, talk to your neighbors and possibly local law enforcement.  Parking in the street puts you and your guests at risk of being ticketed.  The HOA is unable to change this law and therefore cannot assist you if you get a ticket.  Thank you!

Board Meeting

There will be a board meeting on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 6:30pm.  Meeting will be held at the President’s house (2734).  Agenda will include discussion about treasurer position.   Members are welcome to attend the meeting, however, attendance is not necessary.

Happy 4th of July!

Please remember to use only fireworks that are legal in city limits, be mindful of where you set off your fireworks and have water nearby to extinguish fireworks/fire.  It’s a good idea to water your lawn/flower beds this evening, especially for those who have lawns that are dry!  Also, we ask that you please be courteous to those who have to work tomorrow and finish festivities by midnight.  We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

July Yard of the Month winner

Congratulations to 2741, lot 42 on being this month’s Yard of the Month winner!  As the summer gets warmer, please remember to water your grass.  Some lawns are beginning to look dry and we do have standards that can result in a fine.  There are two more opportunities to win a Home Depot gift card, maybe next month it will be you!

Volunteer needed

We are in need of a volunteer to work this Saturday, July 6th at 9am.  We will be pruning bushes this week for 30 minutes.  Volunteers will earn a $15 credit towards their 2020 HOA assessment.  If you are interested, please contact the secretary at avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com .  Thank you!

New fireworks ban

Kitsap County has issued a new ban on some fireworks due to how dry it has been.  Please read this article to understand what is/isn’t allowed:  https://www.kitsapsun.com/story/news/2019/05/29/fireworks-restrictions-passes-kitsap-county-july-4th/1278809001/  .  Please keep in mind what is sold on the reservation, isn’t always allowed in the City of Poulsbo.  Be mindful of the fire hazard!  As we saw a couple of years ago, when one of the yards in the neighborhood caught fire due to a bottle rocket, we were unable to get through to the fire department.  If it weren’t for the quick action of our own neighbors,  there would have been structures destroyed.  Keep your lawns watered!  Also, with the 4th being on a Thursday, we ask that neighbors wrap up celebrations by midnight.  Many neighbors have work the next day, so please be courteous.  Thank you!

HOA Treasurer needed

All volunteers for the HOA Treasurer position must contact the HOA President, Eric Rust, by July 1st to be considered for the job.  This is a low key position, that does not require a lot of time.  The current Treasurer, Carol Mezen, is able to train the next volunteer.  Please send an email to avondaleglenpresident@gmail.com to apply.  Thank you!
