During the annual meeting, the new housing development proposed to be built adjacent to our neighborhood was brought up. The builder recently submitted a new site plan to the city (click here to view), which includes the main entry/exit point off of Lincoln and another point off of Noll Road. It was requested by the members that the board contact Kitsap County and ask that they require the builder to install sidewalks. An email was sent, and the county responded with a link to a form that can be used to request sidewalks in our area (click here for the link to the form). The board will submit a form, but it is highly encouraged that all homeowners also submit this form and forward the form to other homeowners in the area. The more people who make the request, the better our chances are of having the sidewalks installed. You may even want to send an email directly to Ron Pierce. He is the traffic investigator at Kitsap County Public Works. His email is RPierce@kitsap.gov.
Everyone should have received a notice of land use application in the mail recently (click here to view notice). The board will contact these entities, but we also encourage homeowners to contact the city and builder if they have any concerns or questions regarding the new plan. Again, the more voices they hear, the more likely they are to respond. We may not be able to stop the project from happening, but we can certainly make sure improvements to our community are done in conjunction with this project. If there is anything you would like the board to address with the builder, the City of Poulsbo, or Kitsap County, please contact the Secretary at avondaleglensecretary@gmail.com. Thank you!
