Dear Neighbors,
In the past week, several homeowners have expressed concern over the use of fireworks in this neighborhood on the 4th of July. It is very easy to see the effects from the lack of rain and triple digit heatwave has had on everything. Lawns, bushes, trees and wooded areas are bone dry. We are asking that everyone please reconsider purchasing fireworks this year and attend a public display instead. If you must purchase fireworks, please buy legal ones only. You can ensure this by going to vendors within city limits. If you choose to go to the reservation, please stay away from any and all aerials. This includes things like mortars, bottle rockets, bumble bees, etc. In the years past, we have learned that the local fire departments are extremely overwhelmed during the 4th and more than likely will not be able to answer your call for help. Please be sure to light your fireworks in the street, not in your backyard. Also, be sure to have a bucket of water, garden hose that is turned on and, if you have one, a fire extinguisher nearby. In addition, many neighbors may be away from their homes that night. It is important that we all be vigilant and watch for fires on our neighbor’s property. By taking the extra safety precautions, we can all have a safe and happy 4th of July.
Thank you,
HOA Board
